Our First Halloween

Michael and I carved pumpkins with the Sr. Gildones and left them lit on our porch for all the passers by to enjoy. Michael's is the big one, inspired by Jack Slekington from the Nightmare before Christmas. Mine, unfortunately, was intended to look "cool" but seems to resemble a geriatric stroke victim...drooping mouth, sr. citizen black sunglasses, overgrown nose....inspired by my wonderful friends at work.

Buzz Oates "No Excuses" 5K

Running was a family affair today with Bita, Sadie, Carmen, Nathan, and Janet running a 5K, Sienna running a 1/2 mile, and Isaiah running a 1/4 mile. Papa, Gen, Em, their kids, and the Henning clan all came to cheer.

We are so grateful for so much supportive family who love Ava. Thanks for celebrating her 2 years with us!

Cherry Cupcakes at the Park

We celebrated with some of Ava's friends at the park the morning of her birthday. It was super hot but we had fun and afterwards we got to go swimming. Ava eventually loved the pool and especially the fact that she got to wear her "doot doot" (swimsuit).

Bita's 60th continued

Pizza for dinner of course.

A journal with notes to her from lots of special people. And desserts made by Emmy. It was a great day of celebrating Bita and the things she likes. And, for the record, she said it was a "good surprise".
